Here at baggies Backpackers we never let a little old thing like the January blues get us down, but we do know that sometimes you need something to look forward to to keep your spirits high. So, whilst festival season proper seems like a millennium away, we’ve rounded up a few events and festivals that are just around the corner.
Brighton Science Festival Feb 2nd- Feb 28th
Grab your lab coats, dust-off your bunsen burners and get prepared for this month-long festival of all things terrifically scientific! Whether you are in need of some brain stimulation, want to play at being a professor or just want to invoke the inquisitive inner-child within you, there is sure to be a talk, activity or experiment that will tick the box! Vegfest 27th & 28th February @ Brighton Centre. Tickets from £7
Where else but Brighton to host a 2 day vegan festival?! Vegfest promises to bring over 200 stalls of awesome vegan food, body care products and merchandise, as well as many informative talks and cookery demonstrations. Everything at the event is 100% vegan and if you are considering changing your lifestyle or are just curious, there will be plenty of nutritional information freely available! The Brighton centre is just along the seafront from the hostel, and our vegan manager will talk to you all day about the best spots to eat in town!
Sussex Beer Festival 17-19 March @ Brighton Corn Exchange (TBC)
One for the ale aficionados and cider connoisseurs the 26th Sussex beer festival brings you 150 quality ales, 40 ciders and perries, and a food hall to line your stomach. Need we say more? Prices start at £5 per session and there are discounts for students (with NUS card) and CAMRA members.
Brighton Tattoo convention 30 April – 01 May
In it’s 9th year, the Brighton Tattoo convention is now at the Brighton centre, filling it with the latest and greatest in all things ink. Expect breathtaking exhibitions, music, and of course, people being tattooed! Check out the awesome video on their website for a peek at what you could be enjoying!
